Across the sector, strong project execution, healthy customer demand, and strategic acquisitions contributed to revenue growth and improved profitability. With project pipelines extending into 2027 and beyond, the latest results suggest that the industry’s underlying growth drivers remain firmly in place.
Below is a summary of each company’s third-quarter performance.
Comfort Systems USA (NYSE: FIX)

Operating cash flow exceeded $1 billion for the quarter, reflecting strong execution and cash generation.
Backlog climbed to a record $17.81 billion, representing a 90% year-over-year increase and approximately $3.8 billion in sequential growth. This substantial expansion reflects sustained demand for the company’s mechanical and electrical contracting capabilities, particularly in large-scale technology and data center projects.
Technology-related construction continues to dominate the company’s project mix, supported by investment in AI infrastructure and advanced computing facilities. Manufacturing, healthcare, and institutional construction also contribute to its diversified customer base. Management remains optimistic about organic growth, profitability, and cash flow through the remainder of 2026 and into 2027.
EMCOR Group (NYSE: EME)
EMCOR reported another record quarter as revenue increased 29% year-over-year to $5.54 billion, including approximately 26% organic growth. Adjusted operating income increased 43% to approximately $580 million, while adjusted operating margin expanded to 10.5%, reflecting strong project execution and operating efficiency.
Remaining performance obligations reached a record $18.57 billion, up 47% from the prior year. Data center-related projects accounted for $8.74 billion of that total, more than double the year-earlier level.
Electrical construction revenue increased 44%, while mechanical construction grew 43%, driven largely by demand for hyperscale data centers and increasingly complex cooling and electrical infrastructure. Healthcare, higher education, water and wastewater infrastructure, and manufacturing also contributed to the company’s growth.
EMCOR continued expanding through strategic acquisitions, including Schmidt Electric and Connelly Electric, strengthening its electrical contracting capabilities. Reflecting continued confidence in its outlook, management raised full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $20.6–$21.0 billion.
MYR Group (NASDAQ: MYRG)
MYR Group reported record third-quarter revenue of $1.26 billion, an increase of approximately 32% year-over-year. The C&I segment delivered particularly strong growth, with revenue increasing approximately 58% to $704 million. Demand remained healthy across data centers, healthcare, education, transportation, and industrial construction. Meanwhile, utility investment in grid modernization, transmission expansion, and electrification continued to support the T&D business.
The recent acquisitions of Valley Electric and Comet Electric also contributed to growth, expanding MYR’s geographic reach and commercial electrical capabilities. Management anticipates continued momentum in 2027, supported by a robust project pipeline and long-term infrastructure investment.
Looking Ahead
Third-quarter earnings reinforce the favorable long-term fundamentals supporting the facility services and specialty contracting sector.
